The coach of the U-15 junior national team of Uzbekistan Azamat Abduraimov attended the matches of the Commonwealth Cup and shared his impressions of the tournament.
– This is a very noble idea to gather not only children of 14 years old who play in the teams of Uzbekistan, but also children from various CIS countries, namely Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Therefore, I think this tournament is very important both for developing of sport and for the guys not only to participate in their own championships, but to observe the level of how football develops in other countries. I think the experience that they acquired, regardless of whether they won, reached the semifinals, won medals or not, is a great experience for everyone, both for coaches and boys.
As a coach of the junior national team of Uzbekistan, I also watch how the players present themselves at the level of international matches. One thing when we see them in local championships, another thing when they play at the international level. Therefore, for us, coaches, this tournament is obviously important but for the boys it is more significant.
I would like to congratulate the organizers, the football club Spartak as well as Football Federation with such an undertaking, and I would like this tournament to develop further.
– Can this tournament be a platform for boys of 14 age to demonstrate their abilities and get into the national team?
– Yes of course. For all the boys of this age from our local teams the doors to the national team are open. We have candidates from those boys who are now participating in the tournament and can show themselves well and get into the national team. For this, I come to the game, for this I watch. And of course, together with the coaching staff, we will draw conclusions after the tournament and invite those we liked to the national team.
– Your parting wishes to young football players.
– The most important thing in football is undoubtly, not only talent, not only skill. The most important thing is a great desire. In my century there were many gifted footballers, but those who make great efforts always grow into stars. That is, you need work, you need to work on yourself and be committed to football. If all this happens, I think these boys will be able to become stars.
